Thomas Brown Communications is a boutique communications consultancy focused on arts and culture. Thomas Brown has over a decade of specialized experience in shaping narratives, elevating profiles, and securing meaningful visibility for clients operating across museums, foundations, cultural diplomacy organizations, academic institutions, and the art market.
Brown has advised a diverse roster of clients across the U.S. and internationally, including American Friends of the Louvre, American-Scandinavian Foundation, Asia Society Texas, Ballroom Marfa, Clark Art Institute, Dia Art Foundation, Lisson Gallery, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Mendes Wood DM, Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University, The Philippine Pavilion at the 2026 Venie Biennale, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, and Wave Hill, among others. His campaigns have driven visibility for cultural initiatives at the United Nations, Art Basel, and Frieze Art Fair. Brown also collaborates with the Paris-based firm l’art en plus, supporting international projects for Diptyque, Guerlain, Lee Ufan Arles, and more.

With a deep grounding in art history, institutional ecosystems, and market dynamics, he brings both intellectual acuity and strategic clarity to every engagement, placing clients at the forefront of contemporary cultural discourse and delivering sustained impact across leading global media outlets.
Before founding his practice, Brown held key roles at PR and marketing agencies focused on arts and culture. Prior to this, he was at the Calder Foundation, where he promoted initiatives such as the Calder Prize, Atelier Calder, as well as major exhibitions dedicated to Alexander Calder at institutions such as Tate Modern, London; the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, Paris; Museo Jumex, Mexico City; Fondazione Vedova, Venice; the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.
Brown holds a B.A. in Visual and Critical Studies from Hampshire College. He is an active member of the Contemporary Council of the New Museum and the International Council of the World Monuments Fund. He has held affiliations with Alliance Française, French-American Chamber of Commerce, American Alliance of Museums, and Communications Network.
